East New York Boiler, Pipe & Sewer Repairs
Our shop is on Hinsdale Street. East New York isn't a service area on a map to us — it's the block.
East New York is where our trucks start the day. We're based at 657 Hinsdale Street in 11207, so a call from New Lots, City Line, or the blocks off Atlantic Avenue is a short drive rather than a cross-borough dispatch.
Most of East New York is two- and three-family wood-frame and brick houses built roughly between 1900 and 1940, with long rows of attached brick homes running through New Lots and City Line. That vintage shows up in almost every call we take here: original one-pipe steam boilers feeding cast-iron radiators, galvanized supply lines narrowed by a century of scale, and cellar piping that has been patched by a dozen different hands since the house was built.
Sewer laterals in the neighborhood are commonly clay or older cast iron, and the street trees along Linden Boulevard, New Lots Avenue, and the residential blocks north of Atlantic find them. Root intrusion is the single most common thing our camera inspections turn up here, usually alongside grease buildup from two or three kitchens sharing one lateral out to the city main.
Toward the eastern and southern edges — the low-lying blocks running out toward Spring Creek and the Belt Parkway — we see more water in cellars than almost anywhere else in Brooklyn, and often it has nothing to do with a broken pipe. Sump pump and sewage ejector work is a larger share of what we do in East New York than in the borough's higher, older brownstone neighborhoods.
Because so much of the housing here is two- and three-family with an owner living in one of the units, a single boiler failure is rarely a one-household problem. We're used to coordinating access across tenants, working in shared cellars, and being straight with an owner about which repairs will hold through the winter and which are patches buying time until a replacement.
The 2016 rezoning along Atlantic and Pitkin Avenues added newer mid-rise buildings running modern hot-water and combi systems instead of steam. Different equipment, different diagnostics, same trucks — our technicians carry what they need for both a 1920s steam boiler on Hinsdale Street and a sealed-combustion combi unit six blocks away.
Housing Context
Predominantly two- and three-family wood-frame and brick houses from the 1900s–1940s, attached brick rows through New Lots and City Line, large NYCHA developments, and newer mid-rise buildings along the rezoned Atlantic and Pitkin Avenue corridors.

FAQ
East New York Questions
Yes — our shop is at 657 Hinsdale St, Brooklyn, NY 11207, which is in East New York. It's the neighborhood we work most, and most jobs here are minutes from the shop rather than a dispatch across the borough.
11207 and 11208 in full, which covers East New York proper, New Lots, City Line, and Cypress Hills, plus the adjacent blocks around Broadway Junction, Highland Park, Spring Creek, and Starrett City. If you're not sure whether your address falls inside, call and we'll tell you straight rather than guess.
We're hired by owners and managing agents, so we can't enter a building without the owner's authorization. If you're a tenant without heat during NYC's heat season, you can file a complaint with 311 and HPD, which can inspect and issue violations. Our no-heat page for East New York walks through the temperature rules and what to check before you call.
On the lower-lying blocks toward Spring Creek and the Belt Parkway, a high water table plus an undersized, failed, or unplugged sump pump will put water on a cellar floor without any plumbing failure at all. The first thing we do is establish whether it's groundwater, a sewer backup, or an actual leak — those are three different repairs, and guessing wrong is expensive.
Whoever owns the building or is authorized to approve the work. We're happy to coordinate access with tenants once the owner has given the go-ahead, and we'll keep the person paying for the job informed about what we find rather than only speaking to whoever let us in.
All regulated plumbing, gas, and permit-required work is completed by appropriately licensed partner professionals in accordance with New York's licensing and permitting requirements. Routine repairs and installations are performed directly by our own technicians.
There's a $125 diagnostic visit fee, waived when you move forward with the repair. Repair pricing depends on what the diagnosis actually turns up — we'd rather quote you after seeing the system than give you a number over the phone that changes once we're in the cellar.
We offer same-day appointments and answer emergency calls around the clock, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Being based in the neighborhood means East New York emergencies generally aren't waiting behind a drive from another borough.
